We All Hate Missing Out On A Good Sale

Have you ever found out about a sale when it’s too late and the offers have finished? Well you’re not alone. Recently at Salesgossip we completed a survey so we could improve our service ensuring that you will never miss a sale. We wanted to have a better understanding of the ways in which you wanted to find out about when your favourite shops are on sale and to improve your shopping.

The general consensus is that everyone got extremely annoyed and frustrated when they missed a sale. The majority of people want to know about the sale before it is happening, not when it is half way through and there is nothing left.

This is a major concern for many respondents, who complained about the lack of inventory and sales available. Salesgossip will help people know about the sales in time so you can be the first and most importantly of all get a pick of the best and get some fantastic bargains.

A staggering 64% of respondents felt that they have missed the best part of the majority of sales, even though stores are spending huge sums of money on marketing about coming sales.  The advertising of these sales is not reaching the right target it seems as most advertisements are shown during the day, when the majority of people are at work. Our solution to this problem was Salesgossip. The information is available whenever you want it, and it is updated on a daily basis. We increasingly put up sales that will be coming up weeks before they start and the rest as soon as they are announced we add them to the website. and as soon as a sale is announced we add it to the website. In addition live Twitter feeds and Facebook updates, enables us to keep everyone informed of any updates that are going on.

The majority of people who completed the survey seemed to have feelings of fury and outrage especially when you bought the item at its full retail price and a few days later it is on sale.

Over 44% of the respondents are registered to 3 or more newsletters. But to get to know about each and every sale you have to subscribe to 100s with the resulting spam and clogging up of their email accounts. Salesgossip’s answer to this is “all information stored on one database.” We send one or two updates a week showcasing our top 3 sales for that week, other than that we leave the information on our website so you can browse the sales at your own leisure, online or on your phone.

Over 27% of the respondents are not registered to any newsletters as they resist the trend. This is becoming more and more common as people don’t want to receive ten or more advertisements from shops on a daily basis; most people only want the information that will interest them. Here at Salesgossip, we give you the option to receive exactly what type of sale you would be interested in. We found that upon reception of a newsletter that is of interest, 54% of people click on the link provided, 52% of people check out the promotion and store online, and a further 35% of people physically go to the store to browse the material on sale.

It is interesting to note that only 33% buy regularly with newsletters they receive this is mainly due to the fact that the said newsletters are often of no interest. I lose count how many times I send emails to my trash because they are of no use or interest; this is exactly the same for many other individuals.

Although a lot of people in the UK love shopping the majority don’t have time to walk down busy streets in London looking around shops for sales on a weekly basis. Most of us in London are: solution demanders. Over 70% of people explained that they found out about the sales merely walking down the street. Whereas 45% find out by friend’s gossip or word of mouth and a shy 40% find out via newsletters.

If you don’t happen to walk down Oxford Street on a typical day then you’re more than likely to miss the sale or offer which is what has happened to over 70%. If people had Salesgossip then they could source the information efficiently and easily on their phones or computers and find only what they are looking for.
