Shoreditch Style
Want to find out which of our London Shopping Walks is the one for you? Here’s the style lowdown on Shoreditch…
Edgy, indie and alternative, hip Shoreditch is a hub for creative types - making it the perfect place to go trend spotting. As you walk down Brick Lane you’ll rub shoulders with art students photographing taste-makers against a backdrop of street art and market stalls.
Every Sunday Brick Lane and some of the surrounding streets fill to the brim with market stalls selling pretty much everything you can think of – but it’s the retro fashion Shoreditch has become famed for, and you’ll find a dedicated vintage market on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at the Old Truman Brewery.
Shoreditch isn’t just for secondhand shopping. Top designers and emerging design talent have their studios in the area and frequently hold sample sales where you can get your hands on current season stock for up to 80% off the RRP. The Old Truman Brewery on Hanbury Street hosts sample sales throughout the year – so be sure to check what’s going on during your visit. If you’ve never been to a sample sale before, our Sample Sale Survival Guide has all the tips you’ll need to guarantee shopping success.
On our Shoreditch Shopping Walk we’ll also show you where to find British and international brands, including Barbour, Benefit, Olga de Polga and Dr Martens. Just look what you can buy…
Barbour waxed jacket, £219; Dr Martens yellow satchel, £125; floral boots, £100; Benefit fragrances, £29.50 each; Olga de Polga fashion.
