Who’s Your British Style Icon?
For the past two years Alexa Chung has ruled the roost as British Style Icon – but could she be about to lose her crown? The British Fashion Council have just opened voting ahead of the British Fashion Awards ceremony on 27th November – but who will get your vote this year? Who embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London as a leading fashion capital? The very stylish short list is as follows:
Adele
Alexa Chung
Anya Hindmarch
Cara Delevigne
Carey Mulligan
Daphne Guinness
David Beckham
David Gandy
Duchess of Cambridge
Florence Welch
Helena Bonham Carter
Henry Holland
HM The Queen
HRH The Prince of Wales
Kate Moss
Lara Stone
Phoebe Philo
Rosie Huntington Whitely
Samantha Cameron
Stella McCartney
Tilda Swinton
Tinie Tempah
Tom Ford
Victoria Beckham
Vivienne Westwood
The not so short list contains quite a strong royal contingent – so could The Queen claim the crown in her Jubilee year? Or how about a win for Prince Charles or the Duchess of Cambridge? Harry, however, is notable by his absence - but he has become more of an ambassador for not wearing clothes in recent weeks!
Stella McCartney has to be a front runner following her success with the Team GB kit for London 2012. She is also nominated for the highly coveted Designer of the Year award alongside Christopher Kane and Mary Katrantzou, but with such strong competition it remains to be seen whether she will be first past the post on the night.
Voting closes on 31st October, have your say at the British Fashion Council website now…
