Statement Sweaters for Wool Week

Autumn is the season to make a statement with your sweater. Throw caution to the wind and wear your heart on your sleeve. This is your chance to convey exactly what you want to say in a kooky speech bubble comic book chic style.
Dr. Who assistant, Karen Gillan couldn’t have pitched her look better for Comic Con with her 3.1 Phillip Lim Ka-Pow sweater. Inspired by Roy Lichtenstein’s Pop Art prints, Lim has created a covetable range of comic book knits which pack a style punch, whilst Markus Lupfer has gone speech bubble crazy with ‘Wow’, ‘Totes Amaze’ and many more catchy slogans.
Other motifs to look out for this season are animal designs, (particularly foxes, cats and owls) stars, hearts and polka dots, as seen at
Chinti and Parker, as well as more traditional intarsia and fair isle knitwear patterns.
Red Wow jumper £325, Markus Lupfer; Grey Ka-Pow jumper £310, Markus Lupfer; Green Racoon jumper £310, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel; Grey Fox jumper £125, Aubin & Wills; Break-Up jumper £390, 3.1 Phillip Lim; Ka-Pow jumper (as seen on Karen Gillan) £390, 3.1 Phillip Lim. Available at Net-A-Porter and my-wardrobe.com.
Why not use Wool Week as the perfect excuse to invest in your winter wardrobe? Organised by the Campaign for Wool, from 15th October there will be events taking place nationwide designed to celebrate the versatility of wool as well as to promote the importance of sustaining the British wool industry.
