Bid on Bond’s Blue Trunks
Got a spare £5000 just lying around? No us neither – but anyone who has this kind of money just burning a hole in their pocket could get their hands on a piece of cinematic history. To celebrate 50 years of James Bond on the big screen Christie’s are all set to hold a live auction of 007 memorabilia on Friday 5th October. And the star item? You’ve guessed it – it has to be the tight blue trunks as worn by Daniel Craig in Casino Royal.
It’s the image that has spawned a thousand imitations on your beach holidays, but no-one can recreate the magic of Daniel Craig emerging from the crystal waters wearing ice blue trunks in the perfect shade to compliment his piercing blue eyes – look and swoon ladies!
Let’s face it, the lucky bidder won’t actually get a whole lot of fabric for their cash if the iconic trunks reach their full £5000 estimate, but it is all for a good cause. The money raised will be donated to a number of worthy charities, with UNICEF to be a major beneficiary of the sale.
