A Picture of Karyn

At SalesGossip we are very pleased to introduce our new intern Picture Editor, Karyn Louise. Time to get to know her a bit better and have a natter about shopping, sales and Solange Knowles…

I have always been into fashion, but it’s only over the past 2/3 years that I’ve clamped down and really begun to find my own style/identity – especially since I’ve started sporting my natural Afro hair. THIS OF COURSE MEANT SHOPPING!

What was your last purchase in the sales? My last purchase in the sale was a burnt orange blazer from Bershka marked down from about £30.00 to £10.00.

Tell us about the best bargain you have ever found? The best bargain I ever found was in the January Zara TFL sale – a pair of jeans that went down from about £40.00 to £5.00 and I still wear them ’til this day, and it puts a smile on my face every time I put them on.

If you could only shop in one high street store, which would you choose and why?  If I could shop in one high street store (I would also like to buy shares) it would be Zara. Their style is always changing and that’s what appeals to me.

Who are your favourite designers? My fave designers are Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Agatha Hambi (I recently saw her work at Fashion’s Finest), but that is just to name a few.

Who is your style crush?  OHHHH my style crush/obsession is, and will always be Solange Knowles. For me she has opened the door to endless fashion possibilities for chicks who wear their hair in Natural Afro, i.e she rocks the latest fashion with an Afro… LOVE IT!

Who would be your dream shopping companion? My dream shopping companion would be Solange Knowles paired with a “mary poppins” bag – one word ENDLESS!

Which trends for A/W ’12 will you be shopping for? The trends that I will be going for this A/W 2012 are prints and studs/spikes.

Have you ever had an embarrassing moment whilst out shopping you’d like to share with us? No I haven’t had any shopping embarrassments – I always try to prepare to avoid that.

What would you love to find with 75% off? I would love to find winter boots.

What would be your number one tip for successful sales shopping?  My tip for sales shopping success would be to try and get it online first – yeah you have to pay a delivery charge but I think it balances out having to go into the (as I like to call it) sales crush!

Thanks Karyn! Welcome to Team SG!
