Hussein Chalayan sale

British Designer of the Year 1999 and 2000, Central Saint Martins graduate Hussein Chalayan is renowned for his innovative use of materials, meticulous pattern cutting and progressive attitude to new technology. Inspired by architecture, science and technology, Chalayan first gained recognition thanks to his graduate collection featuring partially decomposed clothes which had been buried in his back garden before being dug up again.

Setting the avant-garde tone of things to come, Chalayan has famously gone on to design chairs and tables that become garments as well as a series of laser LED dresses in collaboration with Swarovski. Not surprisingly, Chalayan counts Bjork and Lady Gaga as fans - but the Black and Grey lines offer a more wearable collection of womenswear.

Formerly a design consultant for cashmere brand TSE, in 2008 Chalayan became creative director of sportswear label, Puma.
