Carnaby Street & Soho shops
Step underneath the Carnaby Street arch and you’ll be transported back in time to the swinging sixties. The hip shops around Carnaby & Soho dressed London’s Mods, who were diehard fans of guitar based brands such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones and The Who, and to this day Carnaby Street still attracts a young crowd looking for the latest must-haves as well as retro inspired pieces. Independent fashion boutique, Merc is one store to have stood on Carnaby Street since the 1960s and sells clothing inspired by this golden decade of British fashion.
Don't make the mistake of thinking Carnaby Street hasn't moved with the times. Caraby Street is Pop-Up Shop homeland - so there's guaranteed to be something new and exciting each time you visit. One of London’s most popular and distinctive shopping destinations, there are approximately 56 independent boutiques and 30 flagship stores within Carnaby’s 12 streets.
The 12 streets making up this village-style area include Carnaby Street, Newburgh Street, Marshall Street, Ganton Street, Fouberts Place, Beak Street, Broadwick Street, Marlborough Court and the vibrant open-air shopping courtyard, Kingly Court. Filled with quiky boutiques and designer labels, look out for Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, Jack Wills, Barbour, Pepe Jeans - and Liberty is just off Regent Street.
Carnaby is perfectly located between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus, but tucked away from the usual hustle and bustle of London’s West End. Look out for the Carnaby Street sales and shopping parties, offering shoppers over 20% off in the stores as well as entertainment.
